Establishment of the "New Steps" building in Santo Ângelo
For 14 years, OBRAMIS has been committed to bringing the Gospel to children in several neighborhoods of Santo Ângelo with the "Novos Passos" - "New Steps" - project. In the last three years, in addition to the Rosental and Harmonia neighborhoods, it has been active in the João Goulart, Santa Clara and Colmeia neighborhoods, trying to bring light and hope into the lives of children there every Saturday. With dedication, they not only offer guitar lessons, pottery courses, woodworking and various educational activities, but also give the children 30 minutes of devotion - a valuable time that introduces their hearts to the love of God. However, OBRAMIS does not yet have its own facility in these neighborhoods. Instead, the activities take place in rooms that are kindly made available to us by partners. However, this situation makes this important work difficult: equipment cannot be stored on site, there are no special rooms for children of different ages, and additional programs cannot be offered on other days of the week. There is also no place where our missionaries can stay overnight or where basic needs can be taken care of. This situation affects us very much. In view of these challenges, this project therefore aims to raise enough funds to purchase a piece of land and build a permanent center for this work. A center that not only offers enough space for comprehensive care for children and young people, but will also be a place of protection. At the same time, we want to secure funding for the first two years in order to build a strong team, obtain the necessary permits and enable long-term support for the project. Realizing this vision means creating a home of faith and care for the children of Santo Ângelo - a place where they can put down roots and grow in God's love. Project goals Our goal is to raise funds to buy a piece of land and build a permanent OBRAMIS facility in Santo Ângelo. We want to create a place where we can safely store our materials, expand our work for local families in need and offer children and young people a reliable contact point that is characterized by God's infinite love. To make this dream a reality, we need a piece of land of around 720 to 900 m² and the purchase of containers and materials to equip the premises. We also want to secure funding for the first two years in order to build a permanent team and create the necessary structures. After two years, we would then be able to apply for government funding that would support our local mission and the care of children and young people in the long term. Together we want to create a home of hope and care in Santo Ângelo, a place where God's love is visible and tangible and where children can find a better future. Activities offered The activities include the valuable devotional time led by missionary Johann Schorr. Here the children have the opportunity to learn about the Bible, reflect on God's word and open their hearts in praise and worship. In addition, Johann offers craft wood workshops, ceramics courses and music lessons in which the children can discover their creative gifts. Every Saturday the necessary materials are brought from the OBRAMIS headquarters in Tucunduva to Santo Ângelo - an effort that reflects the passion and dedication of our local team to give the children these special moments. Target group With this project we can care for at least 35 children directly at this location. By setting up this building we can also indirectly reach the children in the Rosental and Harmonia districts, as we can then safely store the necessary materials and equipment. If we have the necessary funds for the construction, a total of 100 children can be supported and supported in this project. In this way, we can give many young lives perspective and hope - a place where God's love and care can touch them anew every day.
